Costakis in the 21st Century

As the whole world realised the importance of the Russian Avant-Garde, the scale of George Costakis personality, his mission and his heroic accomplishment also become obvious. The XXI century pays tribute to the great collector step by step. Here are just some of the milestones: In 2000, an exhibition opened at the Museum of Modern Art in Thessaloniki, affirming the world significance of the Costakis collection, In 2013, the 100th anniversary of George. Costakis was celebrated - with a large-scale project at the Tretyakov Gallery. In 2019, the Tretyakov Gallery opened a hall dedicated to Costakis, with the main works from his collection. In 2020, the AZ Museum presented the interactive project “Costakis’ Choice”.
